Fun Facts From Zach's Almanac

Under a bill approved by lawmakers today, the Mexican government has decided to decriminalize small amounts of cocaine, marijuana, heroin, even ecstasy for personal use.

I'm repeatedly amazed at how often the newer democracies of even third world countries manage to practice more progressive legislation that provides greater personal liberites than our own in spite of our being considered the world standard for liberty and freedom.

Meanhile, back in the good old U.S., even pictures of Marijuana are controlled substances.
Let freedom ring!

But, it's the Mexican government. If they are so progressive, how is it they oversee a populace that is hemorrhaging with poverty? You could draw the conclusion that the governement that really doesn't care about it's people will allow them everything. To really care, my recommendation is Mexico should require it's residents to eat Chili Rellenos every day, because that shit is good, and who would want to leave home with a belly full of that yummy stuff? Not me, I'd be Juan Perfecto, fat and happy with a gut full of Relenos. And no impulse to jump the border to wash cars in Des Moines.

Let them eat Rellenos. And just say no.

Cept, Rellenos when your high is really really really good.
